The red osier dogwood is a versatile shrub that can tolerate a variety of soil types including moderately wet soil, and temporary flooding. In June, umbels of white flowers appear, followed by white berries. The dark green leaves turn a vibrant burgundy color in the fall.
This shrub can be great for ornamental uses in the landscape, especially for their brilliant red colored twigs. Seasonal evergreen arrangements often contain this native dogwood variety.
This hardy shrub can be planted as an outside row for Shelterbelts, used in a multilayer windbreak, or as a single row for privacy and trapping snow away from roadways.
Seedling size is approximately 12” tall , 1 year old.
