This dense evergreen is the old stand by. While it is considered a slower grower, this evergreen is still your best choice for year round wind protection and privacy. It is very winter hardy, and can live for quite a long time, ranging from 50-100 years. Grows best in well drained silty loam and clay soils. This tree does not perform well in saline soil. It can provide year round habitats to wildlife including many seed eating birds.
Seedling size is approximately 12” tall , 1 year old.
