A cross-breed between the well known Northline and Thiessen varieties. The Lee #8 Saskatoon is a compact, high-yielding edible shrub that consistently produces large, firm 16mm fruit that’s exceptionally flavourful mid-July.
This shrub is great for homeowners with smaller urban yards due to its smaller compact size. Ideal soil conditions would be a well draining soil with no standing water.
This vigorous Saskatoon is self-fertile, though planting multiple varieties can increase yields. You can expect sizeable production from three to five years of age.
Uses include eating raw, baking, canning, liqueurs, juicing, chutneys for wild meats – the possibilities are endless!
Seedling size is approximately 12” tall , 1 year old.
